A brief history of the Fictional Heritage Centre
Imagine stepping into a time machine!
In 1903, the Zeehan School of Mines opened in Tasmania to teach young people how to hunt for underground treasures. When the local mining boom ended, locals refused to let their massive, world-class crystal and rock collection vanish.
So, in 1963, they transformed the school into a mega-museum! Today, the Fictional Heritage Centre lets you explore a spooky courthouse, climb inside giant steam locomotives, and step into the 1898 Gaiety Theatre—where illusions and old-school movies still play. It is history, but way louder and cooler.
